The couple exchanged their wedding vows on Saturday, March 15, 2014 before a crowd of delighted well wishers and family at Calvary Deliverance Church.
Happy 98th Birthday Ardena Newry
On March 10th 2014, Ardena Newry celebrated her 98th birthday. A small and intimate party by her children and her grandchildren at Ardena's home off Carmichael Road.
Ardena was pleasantly surprised by her son Ambassador Euguene Newry who flew in from Washington DC to help celebrate his mother's birthday.
Funeral service for Ardena Rowena Newry, 98 yrs., a resident of #53 East Ave., Carmichael Road, & formerly of Lovely Bay, Acklins, will be held at Church of God of Prophecy, East Street Tabernacle, on Satyrday 17th May, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Minister Randolph P. Curtis, assisted by Lay Minister Melvin Lundy. In August 2013 Eugene Newry became the Bahamas' Ambassador to the United States, in November 2013 he presented his credentials to that country's president.

On January 27th, 2013, James Newry IV became the senior pastor of one of the Bahamas' most distinguished churches, Calvary Deliverance Chruch, replacing Bishop V.G Clarke as the church's new shepherd.

Eugene Newry playing the cowbells in Washington DC
His Excellency Dr. Eugene Newry, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, joined in a Junkanoo Rush Out at the picnic hosted by the Bahamian-American Association on Saturday, July 12, at the U.S. Coast Guard Base. The picnic was one of the events held over the weekend to celebrate the 41st anniversary of The Bahamas’ attainment of independence.
